Injection Molding - Hero

About Us

To produce plastic components that meet specification on the first shot and the millionth, through disciplined process control, well-maintained tooling and honest communication.

Who We Are

About Our Company

GENFAC PLASTICS is a custom injection molder serving OEMs and product developers throughout and the surrounding region. Our press floor runs a range of tonnages for thermoplastic parts in commodity and engineering resins, supported by a tool room that builds, repairs and maintains molds on site. We handle overmolding, insert molding, decorating, ultrasonic welding and light assembly, and we validate processes with documented capability studies. Customers rely on us because we give straight answers on moldability early, quote lead times we can meet and protect their tooling investment as if it were our own.

GENFAC PLASTICS began as a small tooling shop and expanded into production molding when customers asked for a partner who understood both sides of the mold. That heritage shapes how we work today. Engineers review part geometry before steel is cut, process technicians develop scientific molding windows instead of tuning by feel, and our maintenance team tracks every tool by shot count. The outcome is steady scrap rates, predictable delivery and a supplier relationship that survives product revisions, volume swings and the occasional urgent request.

Injection Molding - Service

Core Capabilities

  • Packaging and labelling are verified against customer requirements per lot.
  • Dimensional inspection frequency is defined per characteristic criticality.
  • Process windows are established by scientific molding studies, not by feel.
  • Validated processes are not altered without documented change approval.
  • First article inspection is completed and approved before production runs.
  • Tooling is inspected, cleaned and maintained on a documented cycle.

Services

Our quality system tracks resin lots, mold maintenance and process parameters for every job, giving regulated and safety-critical customers the records their auditors expect.

Our Process

How We Work

  1. 1

    Part Review & Quoting

We study your model, resin requirements, tolerances and forecasted volumes, then return a manufacturability review alongside a clear quote and tooling plan.

  2. 2

    Tooling & First Articles

The mold is designed, built and sampled. You receive first-article inspection results, and we adjust the tool and process together until parts meet the agreed specification.

  3. 3

    Process Validation

We lock in a documented process window and run capability studies, so production starts from a proven baseline rather than from trial and error.

  4. 4

    Production, Packing & Shipping

Parts are molded, inspected, finished and packed to your requirements, then shipped on schedule or released from managed inventory against your demand signal.

What We Do

Design For Manufacturability Review
Step 01

Design For Manufacturability Review

Engineers examine wall thickness, draft, ribbing, gating and tolerance stack-ups on your part model and run flow simulation when the geometry calls for it. You receive written recommendations that reduce cycle time, warpage and cosmetic defects before tooling is released.

Secondary Operations & Assembly
Step 02

Secondary Operations & Assembly

Ultrasonic welding, heat staking, pad printing, hot stamping, laser marking, threaded insert installation and sub-assembly handled on site. Completed units are inspected, counted and packed to your specification, shortening your supply chain and removing handoffs.

Request a Quote
Mold Design & Tool Building
Step 03

Mold Design & Tool Building

Tooling designed for manufacturability, built with hardened steel or aluminum depending on volume, and fitted with appropriate cooling, venting and ejection. We review gate location, parting lines and cooling strategy with you before cutting steel, and we deliver tool documentation so ownership and maintenance history are always transparent.

Quality Inspection & Validation
Step 04

Quality Inspection & Validation

First-article reports, capability studies, gauge calibration and statistical process monitoring supported by a dedicated inspection area. For regulated programs we support installation, operational and performance qualification protocols with traceable records.

Prototype & Bridge Tooling
Step 05

Prototype & Bridge Tooling

Rapid aluminum tools and low-volume molding runs for design validation, pilot builds and market testing. Parts are molded in production-intent resin, so functional testing means something, and the learnings feed directly into the design of the final production tool.

Request a Quote
Overmolding & Insert Molding
Step 06

Overmolding & Insert Molding

Soft-touch grips, sealing elements and encapsulated metal or electronic inserts molded in a single or two-step process. We engineer bonding surfaces, shut-off details and insert loading methods to deliver assemblies that hold together through the life of the product.

Resin Sourcing & Inventory Management
Step 07

Resin Sourcing & Inventory Management

Material selection support, drying and handling controls, and managed inventory of approved resins. Every lot is logged and tied to the production run, and we maintain safety stock on high-volume programs so supply disruptions do not stop your line.

Custom Injection Molding
Step 08

Custom Injection Molding

Production molding of thermoplastic parts across a range of press sizes, using general purpose and engineering resins. Each job runs against a documented process sheet with controlled cycle parameters, scheduled first-article approval and in-process checks, so dimensional results stay stable from the first shift of a run to the last.

Our Advantages

Why Clients Choose Us

On-Site Tool Room

Mold repairs, modifications and preventive maintenance are done in our own building. A tool issue becomes an hours-long fix instead of a weeks-long shipping delay.

Tooling Care Program

Every mold is tracked by shot count with scheduled cleaning and inspection, protecting your investment and keeping dimensions from drifting quietly out of tolerance.

Capacity To Grow With You

Multiple press sizes and automation cells let a program move from pilot quantities to sustained volume without switching suppliers or revalidating from scratch.

Scientific Molding Discipline

Process windows are established through documented studies rather than operator preference, which means consistent parts from one press, shift and season to the next.

Full Material Traceability

Resin lots, regrind use and production dates are recorded against each shipment, giving you containment capability and clean audit trails.

Engineering Access

You talk to the engineer who will actually run your job. Early questions about draft, gating or resin choice get practical answers, not a quote request ticket.

Engineers You Can Reach

Process and tooling engineers are available to discuss your part directly, instead of a conversation routed through an account manager to a plant you never see.

Scientific Molding

Process windows are established through documented studies and then held, which is why parts from the night shift match parts from the first sample.

DFM Before Steel

Wall thickness, draft, gate location and shrink behaviour are reviewed before tooling, because a geometry change costs nothing in CAD and plenty in steel.

What Clients Say

They told us during the design review that our wall transitions would warp, and showed us how to fix it. That conversation saved us a tool revision and weeks of schedule. It is rare to get that kind of honesty from a supplier.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

We provide first-article reports, inspection plans, capability studies and certificates of conformance as needed. Resin lot and production data are recorded for every job, so you can trace any shipped lot back to material and process conditions.

We do. Aluminum and soft-steel tooling let us run low volumes economically while you refine the design or build demand. When volume warrants, we move into hardened production tooling and carry the lessons across.

A 3D model in a common neutral format, a 2D drawing noting critical dimensions, the material you intend to use and estimated annual volumes are the essentials. If you lack any of these, our engineers can help you define them during the review.

Tooling paid for by the customer belongs to the customer. We label and record each tool, store it securely, maintain it on a schedule and provide status reports on request. Tools can be released to you at any time under the terms of our agreement.

We schedule preventive mold maintenance by shot count, hold safety stock of critical resins and keep approved process sheets for every job. Forecasting conversations with your planning team help us align production well before inventory gets tight.

Yes. We process a range of engineering grades, including glass-filled and flame-retardant compounds. Each material has specific drying, tooling steel and process requirements, which we account for in tool design and process development to protect both part quality and mold life.
